Hello!

I want to tell you about the Womanless Beauty Pageant that will take place on May 18, 2012 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The pageant will not feature women, there will be men instead!

There will be gowns, skits and bathing suits. The audience will vote for best three men. We will pass out the boxes with contestants’ names and the audience will put in $1 in boxes of the top three contestants that you want to vote for.

The finalists will be asked some questions related to current concerns in the Deaf community.

The Judges will cast their vote for Mr. MDAD.

You wouldn’t want to miss this show! The admission cost is $10 online and $12 at the door. We are anticipating a good number of people. You can register online here!

Don’t forget, it is on May 18 at 7 pm at the Baltimore Convention Center!

We are still looking for more men to join and have fun. We will have a prize for Mr. MDAD including the crown!

Hello!

My name is Chris Kaftan. I am currently the vice president of MDAD and also serve as the chairperson of the 2012 MDAD Symposium.

I am vlogging about the Symposium that will take place in two weeks, on May 18-19.

On Friday, we have several workshops scheduled about mental health, your body, taking care of yourself, such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes, healthy eating, heart screening, blood pressure testing, and so forth. We will have concurrent workshops in two different rooms.

There will be other workshops such as legal aid, introduction to firearms training, using CDIs, and what to do if you are denied an interpreter and how to fight for your legal rights under the ADA. We have many different workshops happening on Friday.

On Friday night, we have a special event: the MDAD Womanless Beauty Pageant sponsored by MDAD. What is the Womanless Beauty Pageant? We will have not women, but MEN! The men will showcase their talents and the audience will be able to vote on their top finalists. It’ll be a fun event for all of us! We will have happy hour in downtown Baltimore after the Womanless Beauty Pageant.

On Saturday, we will have the MDAD General Meeting all morning and you will have a chance to meet Lisa Kornberg, the ODHH Executive Director and Howard Rosenblum, NAD’s CEO. We will also have Financial Feud sponsored by Kramer Financial in the afternoon along with different workshops.
